Dad's Eye View

“Since the Creator of all things has established conjugal society as the beginning and basis of human society and, by His grace, has made it a great mystery in Christ and the Church (cf. Eph. 5:32), the apostolate of married persons and families is of unique importance for the Church and civil society....Christian husbands and wives are cooperators in grace and witnesses of faith for each other, their children, and all others in their household. They are the first to communicate the faith to their children and to educate them by word and example for the Christian and apostolic life.”
–Apostolicam Actuositatem n. 11

None of you wants to sit through another classroom lecture. So my comments will be brief. Then we can get to some questions and answers. I’m also going to skip telling you how talented you are. The fruit from the consecration and impact on my vocation have been deep and profound...
Praying The Ultimate Productivity Tool

Lemons

When Life Gives You Lemons
The last six months have been some of the most difficult i’ve ever experienced in my profession. While i’m deeply grateful to have a job, the stress of difficult client projects and longer hours for less money have been trying. My wife and i have also noticed what appears to be an increase in the number of friends and family experiencing deep pruning in their lives, not always as a result of the recession. It seems to be a time of trial for many people.

Inspiring Our Children
Like most parents, i’m concerned about the many temptations and pressures our children face. It seems more young people engage in sinful behavior at younger ages. To protect our children from harm, my wife and i say “no” on a regular basis...
